I started developing a few information sites in June, after a long absence from Google Adsense.  To my surprise, it turns out I didn’t waste hours of my time developing content and optimising it.  Back in early 2006-08, it was a lot easier to rank higher organically through Google, as the main factor was matching anchor text links.  With the change of Google’s algorthim, Panda, a lot more importance has been placed on user interaction.   Even if your content is filled with rich content, say over 2000 words describing why Melbourne is the best capital city in Australia, not many people are going to read it all.   This is why it’s important to add some imagery or even videos to spice things up which will get the message across easier and increase the likely hood of your content being shared.   With your content being share more often would mean it will naturally gain links as well as traffic.
